Can You Remove Hdd From Dvd Recorder How Do You Remove Humidifier Dust From A HDD/DVD Video Recorder Laser Lens When A Lens Cleaner Disk Fails?

How do you remove humidifier dust from a HDD/DVD video recorder laser lens when a lens cleaner disk fails? - can you remove hdd from dvd recorder

My HDD / DVD recorder or video DVDs play record after the use of humidifiers. Humidifiers seems to have settled the dust on the laser lens. I have several times * * CD / DVD on CD with small cleaning brush, and it came with the fine dust on it no end, and still does not work. He reads or writes in a very short time, then stops with an error (if the hard drive at all). The drive still works perfectly. That was an important lesson about ruining Sonic Electronics humidifier, but the damage is done. It is a Toshiba RD-XS35. I spent $ 400 + stored on them and probably less than half a dozen CDs. Please tell me there is no way to save! At least I can still record and watch at theDisk, but can not burn anything. The outside of warranty, and I actually prefer not to pay someone to fix it for me. Is it to fix?

Hi KH,

Unplug the unit and with a flashlight under the covers of DVDs and see if you can find the laser lens. It is a round piece of glass to 3 / 8 "diameter.

Once your search will lead a cotton swab and dip it in alcohol. You may need to save the cotton swab with a pencil, a piece of coat hanger OT for a larger range.

Clean the lens with cotton swab and wait about five minutes to ensure that all remaining alcohol evaporates.

Connect the drive and test it. I rose with great DVD of this method. Works on CD players.

Standard

If you have enough dirt in the things that really affect their performance and build purchasing a new machine. It is so easy.
